VEHICLE AUTOMATIC RECHARGING, BY EFI AUTOMOTIVE

EFI Automotive, a tier 1 automotive supplier, is developing a hands-free conductive automatic charging solution for electric vehicles in partnership with the innovative company GULPLUG. This patented solution will be presented at the CES trade show in Las Vegas from January 9 to 12, 2024, at the West Hall, Business France booth 4025.

It is worth noting that EFI Automotive had already achieved great success at CES 2023 by presenting one of its automatic induction charging solutions (with robot positioning) alongside Stellantis. This collaboration with the automaker also earned EFI Automotive the 2023 Supplier of the Year award in the innovation category last October. For EFI Automotive, inductive and conductive technologies are complementary in addressing all automatic charging needs.

The hands-free charging is intended for home applications (automatic charging during the night), business (automatic charging during work hours), or captive fleets. This solution provides real comfort to the user as no cable manipulation is required, it helps improve battery life, and will facilitate the adoption of bidirectional charging systems. This will allow the car to be used as a mobile energy source when needed, thus contributing to energy management and the resilience of the power grid.

EFI Automotive is a tier 1 automotive supplier, specialized in the design and manufacture of embedded electronic sensors, multi-sensor modules, mechatronic actuators, and power modules with embedded software. These innovative products help make vehicles more fuel-efficient, intelligent, comfortable, and safe, while meeting the demanding standards of safety and cybersecurity (ISO26262 and TISAX).

In 2022, EFI Automotive achieved a turnover of 203.8 million euros. The company has a strong international presence, with technological development centers, production facilities, and commercial offices in the United States (2 sites), Brazil (1 site), Europe (4 sites in France, 1 site in Germany, 1 site in Turkey), and Asia (3 sites in China).

EFI Automotive has implemented an innovation strategy to meet the challenges of mobility. This strategy is carried out not only through its R&D department but also through Axandus (its industrial start-up accelerator) and Akeoplus, an actor in Industry 4.0 (an industrial engineering company specializing in the design and implementation of digital solutions to improve production processes, products, and customer services).

PRESS RELEASE – 2023, October

EFI AUTOMOTIVE RECEIVED THE AWARD 2023 STELLANTIS GLOBAL SUPPLIER OF THE YEAR – INNOVATION CATEGORY, BY STELLANTIS GROUP

The EFI Automotive Group’s capacity for innovation led it to receive this award from Stellantis on October 10, 2023, in Detroit.
This latest recognition confirms EFI Automotive’s position as a major player in sustainable and accessible mobility, and in the field of hybrid and electric vehicle recharging.
The automatic recharging systems for electric and hybrid vehicles developed by EFI Automotive offer a high level of user comfort, optimized energy management and better integration into the electrical grid, making them attractive solutions for encouraging the wider adoption of electric vehicles by users.
Indeed, their advantages are manifold:
Convenience: with our automatic recharging systems, vehicles no longer need to be manually plugged in every time they need recharging. This saves users time and energy and promotes peace of mind.
Flexibility: our technologies also enable electric vehicles to be recharged at any time of day, including during off-peak hours when electricity is cheaper. This reduces recharging costs.
Energy management: our automatic recharging systems are designed to optimize energy management, considering the constraints of the electrical grid. For example, they can modulate charging power according to the availability of electricity.
Safety: our automatic charging solutions have been developed to meet strict safety standards, guaranteeing user safety and protection against the risks of fire or electrical overload.
Integration into smart grids: our automatic charging systems can be connected to the smart grid to enable better coordination of energy flows. This facilitates the integration of electric vehicles into the grid and helps optimize the use of energy resources.
In terms of technology, our first induction charging robot technology was presented on the RAM stand (Stellantis Group) at the Las Vegas high-tech show (CES) last January. Subsequently, EFI Automotive has developed a wide range of technological solutions for the automatic recharging of electric vehicles:
– Inductive and conductive technologies for single or multi-vehicle solutions (up to 6 simultaneously)
– Adapted to the needs and uses identified at CES- For the comfort and peace of mind of every user.
– For the comfort and peace of mind of every user.

THE EFI AUTOMOTIVE GROUP CELEBRATES 85 YEARS OF HISTORY

THE EFI AUTOMOTIVE GROUP CELEBRATES 85 YEARS OF HISTORY

On October 15, the EFI Automotive Group once again focused on innovation and agility to celebrate its 85th anniversary with all its teams around the world.

85 YEARS DEDICATED TO ADVANCING MOBILITY, THAT WAS WORTH CELEBRATING

To celebrate our 85th anniversary in style, we have redoubled our ingenuity to bring together, for the first time in the Group’s history, all of our 1,700 French and foreign employees, ignoring time zone constraints and, of course, respecting current health measures.

Through the organization of a 100% hybrid event, halfway between the physical and the virtual, all the employees of all the Group’s worldwide subsidiaries were able to share a real moment of celebration and conviviality. While a hundred or so employees selected at random were able to attend the celebration in person, broadcast rooms with retransmission screens were set up in the Group’s various subsidiaries (in France, China, the United States and Turkey), while a digital system enabled each employee to connect to the event “live” from his or her workstation or smartphone. This festive event was an opportunity to reflect on the 85 years of this great family business story, and to look back on the recent handover of power from Patrick Thollin to his daughter Béatrice Schmidt, while paying tribute to partners, employees and customers past and present.

Patrick Thollin is now Chairman of the Supervisory Board, while Beatrice Schmidt is taking over as CEO of the Group. This is also an opportunity for the EFI Automotive Group to share with all its employees its transformation objectives and its capacity for innovation, and to remind them of the strength of the company’s human values and the trust placed in each individual to react to the current changes in the mobility market and its new consumption patterns.
